Indianapolis firefighters battled a house fire early Tuesday morning on the near east side. IFD crews were dispatched after 4 a.m. to a home in the 200 block of North Randolph Street. Firefighters saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the home when they arrived.

Police arrested a Hartford City mom in Muncie after they say she passed out from heroin use in her vehicle with a child present. Police were called to East McCulloch Boulevard and North Elm Street just before 3 p.m. Saturday on a report of an unconscious woman in a vehicle with a child. The caller said the child tried to wake the woman up but had no success.

A baby was found alive in a Safe Haven box in Northwest Indiana Sunday. The infant was foundat the Coolspring Fire Department at approximately 7 p.m. and appears to be in good health.

Student driver slams into Indiana home, setting car and house on fire

Two people were killed Monday in a crash involving two small airplanes at an Indiana airport. It happened at the Marion Municipal Airport when a single engine Cessna 150 was taking off and clipped the tail of a larger Cessna Citation Jet 525 that had just landed.

Arrests made in connection to a fatal fire in Harrison Twp. Sunday, deputies say. More information to come.

One person is dead following a Sunday evening shooting on the east side. Police were called to the 3500 block of North Hawthorne Lane at about 5:20 p.m. on report of shots fired. That is a few blocks away from East 34th Street and Emerson Avenue. When IMPD arrived on the scene, they found a male with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Huntington Man faces preliminary charges after an infant died Tuesday morning. The Huntington Police Department said the 2-month-old infant was found unresponsive early Sunday morning in the Cedar Run Apartments complex. The infant was transported to a regional hospital where they were pronounced dead Tuesday morning.
