A brother and sister, ages 12 and 16, were killed in a car accident near the Indianapolis International Airport Sunday afternoon, police said. Both were Wayne Township Schools students, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Names have not been released. Police said the two-car crash happened before 3:20 p.m. Sunday on the 8000 block of W. Washington Street.

21-year-old man was arrested in Madison County Sunday afternoon after police say he fled from an officer attempting to stop him for speeding. According to police, Johnathon B. Cordell was clocked going 86 mph in a 55 mph zone on southbound SR 13 around CR 280 N. When Trooper Blake Stephenson turned his lights on, Cordell reportedly accelerated his Mustang and refused to stop.

Metropolitan Police initially responded to a call of a crash on the 2400 block of 96th Street. between Keystone Parkway and Westfield Boulevard, around 8:40 p.m. for an accident with someone entrapped in a vehicle.

Investigators believe everyone on board a small plane died after it crashed in Carroll County Thursday night. According to Indiana State Police say, the crash site is near the intersection of County Road 600 S and 500 W, north of the town of Rossville. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) says authorities located the wreckage of a Cessna 441 aircraft in the area.

Indianapolis police are expecting to get a fresh set of eyes on how they handle homicide cases, in hope of improving its clearance rates. The department was one of only a handful selected for the technical assistance project from the Police Executive Research Forum, through funding from the Bureau of Justice Assistance. The group is expected to visit Indianapolis Tuesday through Thursday to look at the investigative processes for cases and identify areas where it can be improved.

15-year-old has been arrested after making a threat of violence directed at schools in southern Indiana. According to the New Albany Police Department, the arrest was in relation to a threatening social media post on Feb. 18. The threats targeted schools in both Floyd and Clark counties.

A former sheriff’s deputy in southern Indiana has been sentenced to three years in prison on a child seduction charge. Daniel Greer was sentenced Wednesday after a Gibson County jury convicted him in January. He plans to appeal the conviction.

Police say just before 3 a.m. Friday, a semi driver lost one of his trailers near the exit for the U.S. 20 and U.S. 35 ramps. Moments later, another semi driver hit that detached trailer in the westbound lane, causing that semi driver's cab to roll over.
