A 68-year-old man was killed in a fire Sunday morning on Indy’s near west side. A passerby first reported the house fire on the 3400 block of West 10th Street shortly before 2:30 a.m.
The suspected shooter of Deputy Pickett, 21-year-old Anthony Baumgardt, has been released from the hospital and booked into the Boone County Jail. According to police records, Baumgardt is facing six charges, including murder. He was booked into jail just after 4:45 p.m.

Police have released the name of the man shot outside an Elkhart Walmart store. That is the Walmart in the 170 block of County Road 6 West. The shooting happened around 10:37 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators say 36-year-old David Holland was shot while arguing with an acquaintance.

21-year-old man was arrested in Madison County Sunday afternoon after police say he fled from an officer attempting to stop him for speeding. According to police, Johnathon B. Cordell was clocked going 86 mph in a 55 mph zone on southbound SR 13 around CR 280 N. When Trooper Blake Stephenson turned his lights on, Cordell reportedly accelerated his Mustang and refused to stop.

Investigators believe everyone on board a small plane died after it crashed in Carroll County Thursday night. According to Indiana State Police say, the crash site is near the intersection of County Road 600 S and 500 W, north of the town of Rossville. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) says authorities located the wreckage of a Cessna 441 aircraft in the area.
