Authorities say an elderly woman is dead and a young girl was in critical condition after they apparently suffered carbon monoxide poisoning in northwestern Indiana. Gary Fire Department spokesman Mark Jones says crews responded Wednesday afternoon to a home on the city's west side and found an oven was on. He says firefighters discovered high carbon monoxide readings and found two people in cardiac arrest.
An Indianapolis man has been arrested in connection with a shooting inside of a Lawrence Buffalo Wild Wings, where two teenagers were injured. Police took 18-year-old Damerco Jones into custody Tuesday night, shortly after he reportedly shot a 17- and 18-year-old inside of the restaurant in the 10600 block of Pendleton Pike, according to the Indy Star.

Goshen: all lanes of Indiana 119 at county road 19 are closed after a large truck crashed. INDOT says there is diesel fuel all over the road. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area. You can get around the crash by using west Lincoln Avenue and South Indiana Avenue.

Police are investigating a crash that left a Decatur man dead Monday morning. The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department said the crash happened around 10:47 Monday morning at the intersection of State Road 19 and 800 North, near the town of Etna Green. Police at the scene found a 2002 Ford F 250 in a field west of State Road 19.
Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the 150th criminal homicide of the year after a man was fatally shot on the city’s northeast side Monday morning. The shooting happened at an apartment complex around 12:30 a.m. just off Emerson Road in the 5300 block of Butler Terrace

Charges were filed on Monday against a Lafayette man who admitted to committing an armed robbery to police. According to court documents, on June 2 of this year, two men robbed a woman in her apartment, getting away with some cash. One of the men was unknown to the woman but she stated that the other was 25-year-old Phillip Anthony Williams of Lafayette.

IFD firefighters were called to house fire on the city’s near south side near the Garfield Park area just after 2:30 a.m. Monday morning in the area of Southern Avenue and Boyd Avenue. Officials found the two-story residence almost burnt completely on the backside as well as the upper second floor gone.
Indianapolis: Police Department officers were dispatched to the 5300 block of Butler Terrace on the report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located a male inside a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) responded and pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

Authorities in Madison County responded to a serious crash just before noon on Saturday that sent an elderly woman to the hospital in critical condition. Madison County Sheriff Scott Mellinger confirmed two vehicles were involved in a crash on US 36 just east on Pendleton at around 11:40 a.m.

A Lafayette woman will spend time in jail for possession of methamphetamine. Police say on Nov. 15, 2016 an SUV was pulled over on Veterans Memorial Parkway for failing to signal a turn. The SUV also was displaying plates that didn't match the vehicle.

A southwestern Indiana man accused of causing a crash that killed two children during a police chase has been transferred to police custody. Court records show 26-year-old Frederick McFarland was transferred Thursday from an Evansville hospital to the custody of the state Department of Corrections. He faces charges including resisting law enforcement causing death and is being held without the option of bond.

Suspects on the run from police flipped a stolen car in downtown Indianapolis Thursday morning. According to Indiana State Police, a state trooper saw a vehicle pulled over on the side of the collector ramp downtown. The trooper stopped to check on the car to see if the driver needed gas or had a flat tire or other mechanical problem.

Authorities were investigating the homicide of a teenage boy Wednesday afternoon in northwest Indiana. Dylan Morgan, 17, died at 2:55 p.m. in the 7700 block of West 9th Avenue in Gary, Indiana, according to a statement from the Lake County coroner’s office. He lived in Hammond, Indiana.
