Teacher arrested after allegedly using drugs in classroom
Indianapolis: family is spending their Thanksgiving in mourning after a 24-year-old father-to-be was gunned down overnight. The deadly shooting took place near 42nd and Mitthoeffer on the city’s northeast side.
A teacher at Lake Central High School in St. John, Indiana faces drug-related charges after allegedly being caught by students using drugs in her classroom, CBS Chicago reported.

The death of a man Wednesday night in northwest Indiana has been ruled a homicide. Jaymel D. Patterson, 20, was pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. in the 800 block of East 45th Avenue in Gary, according to the Lake County coroner’s office. He lived on the same block.
Indianapolis: One person is dead and another is in the hospital following an overnight shooting on the city’s northeast side. The deadly shooting happened in the 4100 block of Shady Oak Drive just before midnight Wednesday
Floyd: One person is dead and another hurt after a shooting in Southern Indiana. The Floyd County Sheriff said the shooting happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday night on Moccasin Ridge Court just off Charlestown Road.
The Floyd County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly double shooting. The shooting happened on Mocassin Ridge Court near Cobbler Crossing Road.

Evansville: Police are investigating a suspicious death as a homicide. Police responded to the 200 block of Read street for a death investigation about 7:30 Wednesday. Police say a relative of the victim stopped by the home after not hearing from the victim for about 36 hours. When he got to the home he saw blood on the windows and bed sheets and called police.

Indianapolis: A shooting outside an east side Family Dollar store claimed the life of a man in his mid-20s Tuesday night. IMPD was called to investigate the shooting near E. 21st St. and N. Arlington Ave. at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound in a 2006 black Chevy Monte Carlo. Police do not believe anyone else was in the vehicle with the victim.

Indianapolis: The death of a man who was found inside his burning home over the weekend has been ruled a probable homicide by the Marion County Coroner’s Office. First responders found 73-year-old Stephen Brockmann inside his house in the 9400 block of Barr Drive about 10 minutes after responding to the fire just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Fire investigators said the fire appeared suspicious after finding several ignition points inside the house.
Indianapolis: Metro police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on the northwest side. Police were called to the scene near N. High School Rd. and Westhaven Dr. at about 6:41 p.m. Monday.
Indianapolis: A death investigation is underway after a man’s body was found in the water at the Eagle Creek Sailing Club Monday night. Police were called to the scene in the 8900 block of W. 46th St. shortly after 6:17 p.m.
Firefighters were alerted to a warehouse fire after an employee found smoke pouring from the building. The Fort Wayne Fire Department said an employee arrived to work at Heavy Duty Manufacturing early Monday morning to find smoke pouring from the building. When fire crews arrived, they found a fire in the warehouse area of the building. The sprinkler system was holding the fire partially in check.
