Police investigate after man critically beaten with baseball bat at Columbus park #FOX59Morning
The 4-year-old was in the back of the woman's car. Police say the child was in a booster seat incorrectly. The child was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. Police say charges are pending for the driver of the suspect car and a passenger in it
A 4-year-old has injuries after a driver involved in a police chase crashed into their car downtown. Officers say they tried to stop a car. The car with 4 people inside took off and then crashed into a car driven by a woman at the corner of Fairfield Ave and W Main St

From Edwardsburg Fire: Redfield Street will still be closed this morning between Fir Rd and Gumwood Rd while crews work to repair power and fiber optic lines
Some serious wind damage off of Arthur St in South Bend.
Wayne Township FD confirms no one was hurt when 5 semi trailers caught fire next to a business on Stout Field S. Dr. around 3:30 am (near Sam Jones & I-70). One trailer was loaded with a type of organic peroxide, and hazmat crews + health dept. were called out
The fire appears to be out, but still no word on what was burning. Stout Field Dr is still being blocked by IMPD for safety concerns. One truck from the Airport Fire Department was sent to the scene
LARGE FIRE NEAR SAM JONES & I-70: Firefighters are working to get a fire under control on Stout Field South Dr on Indy's west side (just east of the Sam Jones exit). IMPD has the road closed off. No word yet on what exactly is burning, but IFD's haz-mat crew just rolled up

Scene were a deadly shooting happened around 5am on 515 S. 5th St in Elkhart. Police say a 27-year-old male with gunshot wounds died at the scene. No suspects have been arrested at this time.
